Why I would like the opportunity to serve on the City Council.

Rexburg is a great place. I came here to Ricks College in 1975 from Blackfoot (Moreland) Id. I liked the small town atmosphere and the easy access to great recreation such as Kelly Canyon, Grand Targhee, Island Park as well as other fun places to play. After 2 years as a missionary in Japan, I returned to finish my studies in Landscape & Nursery Management, got married to a wonderful, beautiful woman and started a family and a business here. I started my landscape company with a truck and a shovel. With a lot of hard work and innovation we have grown into a successful business. I have also started two different franchises in the service industry and now employ 30-60 people year round.  I feel I can apply the knowledege I have gained through my various business enterprises to help review the business regulations that exist.  We need to make it easier for desirable businesses to establish here.
I love serving the community. I have been a member of the Kiwanis Club for 25 years and served as pres and lieut gov. I have a strong desire to create a close knit community and especially like to support high school sports. You may have seen me driving around in my "Bobcat Spirit Bus" with the neighborhood kids, Go Bobcats!! I have loved living here and am happy to have one of my children (so far) living nearby and working with me in my business. One of my goals for being on the City Council is to help effect policies for the City that will help us maintain the friendly, family values based atmosphere that has existed and I think still does exist here in Rexburg.  I am grateful for such a great place to raise a family and I want to help keep it that way.
